This Merlot is nicely balanced and would go with many types of meals. The tannins are mellow and there’s a light amount of oak that is not overpowering, so you still taste the fruit flavors including berry and cherry flavors in the wine. There’s also a hint of black pepper. It would be nice with beef or lamb. It would be fabulous with a peppered steak or a hamburger topped with either blue cheese or mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Yummy! |

This is a really good Merlot. It is not too strong, yet full flavored. It compliments food nicely without overpowering it. I could see drinking this red with steak, pastas, and lasagna for sure, and even lighter meats like chicken, providing the right sauce. The flavor has a hint of spice and oak. I am usually not a huge fan of Merlot wines, but this wine I will definitely be drinking again. |
