Vineyard: Chateau Ste. Michelle

Label Description:

The magical combination of sun, soil & water – the “terroir” of Washington state’s world class growing region produces bright, spicy Gewurztraminer grapes. A slow, cool fermentation preserves the wine’s characteristic spice notes. Grapefruit and citrus flavors are lively on the palate in this refreshing, medium-dry wine.

Reviews
Ed Gewurztraminers are honestly some of my favorite white wines and this 2005 Chateau Ste. Michelle is a really tasty one, especially for the price. The Chateau Ste. Michelle vineyards put out some really nice quality wines at very affordable prices. If in doubt at a grocery store (especially on the west coast) these wines are usually a safe bet for a good wine. This style of wine is great with strong cheeses, such as jarlsberg or gorgonzola and of course seafood and chicken. I also like to pair gewürztraminers with spicy dishes. This 2005 really is a great wine for the value and I would highly recommend picking one up for your next special meal or that spicy recipe you’ve been waiting to try.
Jill This is a great dinner wine. Lots of flavors that area very food friendly. It’s one to keep in your fridge as a go-to wine. It’s a little dry with grapefruit and citrus flavors; all of this heightens the flavors in your food. It would be just wonderful with grilled chicken marinated in lemon juice, olive oil and rosemary.
